Description:
A small but rapidly growing civil, environmental, and transportation engineering firm with offices in Perry, Mansfield, and Brunswick, Georgia has a unique opportunity for a highly motivated EIT with water/wastewater/stormwater/transportation planning and design skills. The successful candidate will use your technical abilities to plan and design water and wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, water supply and transmission systems and related appurtenances, stormwater management and conveyance systems, and transportation infrastructure in a dynamic design team setting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Wastewater collection, water distribution, and stormwater hydraulic modeling
- Wastewater, water, stormwater system planning and design
- Prepare economic analysis for civil infrastructure projects
- Planning, design, operations, and management of transportation and roadway infrastructure
- Traffic operations and design
- Preparation of construction specifications and associated documents
- Prepare technical reports outlining analysis and potential infrastructure improvements
- Research issues related to wastewater and water resources that impact individual projects
- Ensure that projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- Be registered as an Engineer-in-Training in Georgia
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, or transportation planning and design
- Can work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Must have a current and valid driver license
- Must have adequate transportation to work
- Must always adhere to safety procedures/guidelines

CIVIL ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER

The successful candidate will plan and design wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, water supply and transmission systems, stormwater collection systems, and related appurtenances in a dynamic design team setting.

- Wastewater, water, stormwater system planning and design

- Participate in local marketing efforts
- Ensure that clients’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- Be registered as a Professional Engineer in Georgia, or be able to obtain Georgia licensure within one year
- Have a minimum of five (5) years experience in municipal utility design and construction management
- Have the ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Must have a current and valid driver license
- Must have adequate transportation to work

GRANT WRITER

Description:
GWES is a small but rapidly growing agricultural, civil, environmental, and transportation engineering firm with offices in Perry, Mansfield, and Brunswick, Georgia has a unique opportunity for a dedicated grant writer for our organization. The grant writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals for USDA, CDBG, and other state and federal grants. The position requires applying knowledge of fundraising methods and plans as well as collaborate with state and federal funding agencies to assist with fundraising opportunities and develop relationships with key stakeholders. It is preferred the applicant have grant administrative experience, but it is not required.
To ensure success, the position requires the need to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods, be committed to the mission you are representing, have the initiative to find grants for GWES clients and projects, and social skills to administer turn-key grant funded projects. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with outstanding multitasking abilities. It is preferred the grant writer have existing relationships with state and federal funding agencies, but it is not required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Enhancing and developing relationships and collaborating with State of Georgia and federal funding agencies
- Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders
- Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission
- Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs
- Assisting with the execution of the development organizations’ strategy
- Identifying grant funding opportunities for GWES clients and GWES research and development
- Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals
- Furnishing prospective GWES clients with supporting documents
- Administering turn-key grant requirements
- Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases
- Assisting GWES with strategic planning for funding opportunities
- Represent GWES at conferences, seminars, and other public events
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Liberal Arts, or related field
- 2+ years of grant writing experience
- Proficient with MS Office Tools
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources and contacts at the state and federal levels
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong people skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
