COMPANY HISTORY
In 2005, Murph Water & Environmental Services was started by Burke Murph to provide property assessment and management services to Georgia property owners. As with most successful businesses, the company expanded into Georgia Water & Environmental Services, LLC. (GWES) in 2010. In 2014, Matt Taylor was selected as a Managing Partner for GWES as business opportunities expanded throughout Georgia. In 2019, GWES changed its’ name to GWES, LLC due to continued growth throughout the Southeast. Since 2015, GWES has grown to three (3) offices located in Perry, Brunswick, and Mansfield with over 20 employees. GWES has been blessed to assist over 115 clients with all of their agricultural, environmental, and civil engineering needs. We take pride in providing services that enhance the quality of communities throughout Georgia and the Southeast. Our pride is shown in the diligent and dedicated work we provide in our services.
LOGO HISTORY
Our company was started on a dream. We wanted to provide excellent customer service to clients with the highest level of expertise and quality. Since 2015, we’ve been striving every year to accomplish our dream. And a dream is all we had in the beginning with Georgia Water & Environmental Services. Our company logo was originally designed with a flying eagle over the outline of the great State of Georgia. What symbolism did we want to yield with our logo? I guess it was simply the courage to capture that dream in Georgia. As we continued to chase our dream, we decided in 2019 to change our logo to represent the company as a brand, GWES. Another partner, Michael Griffore, created a logo destined to brand GWES. Still outlined by the great State of Georgia, our logo resembles a compass with the symbols, G for Georgia, W for Water, E for Environmental, and S for Services. Our compass is our guide, not only into the future, but also as a symbol of our past, which started from a simple dream.
THE SMALL BUSINESS ADVANTAGE
One of the main advantages that GWES has that differentiates us from the competition is that we’re a small business with the resources and expertise of much larger firms. There are a number of advantages in being a small business, and GWES prides itself on being aware of those advantages and passing them along to the Client. GWES brings the following differentiators and advantages to each and every project:
The Personal Edge
Getting to know your customers face-to-face is increasingly important and being a small business allows GWES to be in a better position to provide a more personal service to the client. GWES is able to build a client’s trust by offering them sincere personal attention and by successfully completing projects together that result in the betterment of the client’s strategic service plans.
Flexibility
Small businesses are more nimble than larger businesses and are better able to adapt as project conditions change. GWES is in a better position to provide feedback, observe changing preferences, and enact those changes at all phases of a project. GWES is a lean business and can shift gears more easily than a larger one, which allows the client’s expectations and preferences to be met in an effective and efficient way.
Response Time to Customer Needs
In a small company, it is less likely that customer needs and requests will go unanswered or delayed for a significant period of time. At GWES, there is no lengthy chain of command or complex bureaucracy. The key decision makers at GWES are the Client Managers and are able to respond much quicker, if not immediately, to the client’s needs and/or concerns. GWES can be available nights, weekends, and holidays in case the client needs to get in touch with a decision maker.
Low Overhead
GWES’ rates are among the most competitive in the State of Georgia as a small business; however, GWES’ expertise rivals larger firms and our project team has the horsepower to complete any water distribution project. As a result, our fees are low, but our service remains high.
Experience and Expertise
GWES has over 100 years of combined engineering expertise. Our staff has worked on multi-million-dollar projects. Most recently, we handled construction program management for $55 million of water and wasterwater projects. Our experience rivals competitors in the Southeast.
