Over the past year, Cohen Carpenter has been working out of our Mansfield Office in Newton County, GA to expand his knowledge in the water and wastewater industry and to bolster GWES’ range of services out of the Brunswick Office. Today, we welcome Cohen back to our Brunswick Office and thank him for his willingness to make that sacrifice with his family to further his career and to make GWES stronger than ever. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT MANAGEMENT

Project Description: Assisted with a variety of planning initiatives for water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure including pumping, conveyance, storage, and treatment.  Total program budget – $91M

WATER RESOURCES PLANNING DOCUMENT

Project Description:  Multi-organizational collaborative planning effort to evaluate water and wastewater infrastructure needs, challenges, and alternatives for the next 30 years.

BOX CULVERT REPLACEMENT

Project Description: Design, permitting, and construction administration for replacement of two (2) 6’ x 8’ box culverts in a perennial stream in a historic downtown area.

INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT UPGRADES FEASIBILITY STUDY

Project Description:  Evaluation and recommendation study to assess effectiveness of equipment upgrades at reducing surcharges to municipal sanitary sewer. Evaluations included solids dewatering and biological treatment alternatives.

INFRASTRUCTURE EXPANSION PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

Project Description: Program management assistance to ensure effective and efficient execution of planned water and sewer improvements, totaling over $150 million over the next ten years. Services include project coordination, contract preparation, design, review of work by others, GEFA funding assistance, rate studies, permitting, and on-call assistance.

GRAVITY SEWER OUTFALLS

Project Description: Ecological, engineering survey coordination, and preliminary design of approximately 15 miles of proposed gravity sewer trunk line.

NORTHWEST SERVICE AREA WATER & UPGRADES

Project Description: Planning study to identify needs, challenges, and alternatives for water and sewer infrastructure in a developing industrial corridor.

WATER PLANT UPGRADES EVALUATION

Project Description: Evaluation of existing high-service pumps and booster pump station for capacity to supply proposed 1 MG elevated storage tank.

SEWER EXTENSION EVALUATION

Project Description: Feasibility study to determine potential alternatives for providing gravity sewer service to an unserved, developing area.

WATER PRODUCTION FACILITY – FLOOD RESILIENCE & MITIGATION PLAN

Project Description: Planning document to ensure protection of potable water supply against potential flood hazards.

COMMERCIAL SANITARY SEWER EVALUATION

Project Description: Evaluation and recommendation study to determine gravity sewer service feasibility or necessary pump station improvements at a multi-use shopping center.

OTHER IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS:
